6 Tips to Have Your Dream Wedding

1. Hire Your Dream Photographer

Weddings can be expensive, we get it. But the last thing you want to do is try to budget cut your photography expense. Your wedding photos are the only thing documenting the most important day for the rest of your lives together. If you go for the “cheaper” option you risk having someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing in charge of capturing your day.

Spending the little extra to get a photographer who a. backs up their images so you never have to worry about equipment malfunctions losing your wedding day forever, b. has the editing knowledge and style you want so you don’t come out looking like an Oompa Loompa OR having none of your images be cohesive together, and c. doesn’t miss any of the special moments throughout your day.

2. Find a Florist That Matches Your Aesthetic

You would be surprised how important it is to find a florist that actually understands the aesthetic of your day and delivers high quality florals whether they’re real or fake. You don’t want to be stressing about whether your florist is going to deliver what you wanted or take it “their direction”.

Not to mention you’ll absolutely loveeeee your photos if your florals are absolute perfection!

3. HMUAs… That Is All

You want to feel like the queens and kings that you are on your wedding day right? Get that hair and makeup artist that gets you to look that way too!

Again, this is not one of those things to get the “cheaper” option. A budget HMUA won’t match skin tones, do your hair the way that you want it, or create a look that compliments your features, not diminishes them.

4. Wedding Planners Are a God Send

When we talk about weddings being stressful af, we mean it. A wedding planner and day of coordinator gets to yell at everybody while you sit back, relax, and enjoy your wedding day the way you’re supposed to!

Oh and lets not forget they’ll basically take all the stress out of planning. A good wedding planner knows who, what, when, and where every little detail should be at your wedding and they’ll make it happen for you!

5. Get That Destination Venue

Maybe I’m bias because I love traveling, but BOOK THAT DESTINATION VENUE!!!!!! You will never regret going somewhere flipping epic to say “I do” to the love of your life. Its like a vacation and a wedding all in one!

Even better, your dream photographer would totally travel with you!!

6. Remember That This Day is About You

The thing about wedding days is that everybody wants to make it about them. But you just have to remember that no matter what, this is YOUR day. Don’t let Aunt Karen tell you how to position your arch or your mother in law tell you how to wear your makeup.

This is one of the most important days of your life, so lets make sure we make it all about you yeah?

6 Tips to Have Your Dream Wedding

  1. Kelsey says:

My BFF hired a professional HMUA for her wedding day, and her and make up made her look like a completely different person on her wedding day. Needless to say she was extremely upset, and ended up wiping it off and redoing her make up herself just moments before she walked down the aisle. So I guess my question is; how do you go about finding the correct HMUA. Is there anybody that you would recommend that has photos of their work that we can look at? TIA <3

      Hi Kelsey!!(:

So just like any wedding vendor, I encourage my brides to do their research on whoever they hire!! The MUAH’s that I refer always do trial runs weeks before the wedding to make sure the day of is perfect for my brides and grooms! But even though I refer these specific people doesn’t always mean they’d be the best fit for you! Finding your perfect MUAH is a process, but asking lots of questions in the booking process always helps!!
